One of the most important being to aid in recovering from the social destruction created by the irrational ideology that having skin with highly expressed melanin is a characterizing trait equated with inferiority. melanINherited was created for and is committed to uplifting anyone anywhere who was ever made to feel less than in any way based on the color of their skin and ancestry.

melanINherited seeks to proudly represent the ancestral ties to the largest organ the human body has: Skin. If we simply consider the science of the matter, the fact is, like it or not every human is born with melanin cells, with the exception of those born with albinism. We each inherit melanin cells that exhibit predetermined levels of expression. We don't, as a society, villainize people on the basis of other traits melanin dictates, so why is it rational to do so with skin? Answer: It isn't. 

Ending the cycle of placing societal importance on physical characteristics that are beyond individual control is one way we can all start to enjoy some social equity. melanINherited hopes that by celebrating the heritage signified in the melanin we each carry, we will encourage growth toward ending the damaging illogical social practices that plague our national and international communities.
